Born and raised in the greater Seattle area, Issana is thrilled to teach for Metropolis Dance. Issana brings extensive training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, and tap, so you can expect a stylistically integrated approach to Issana's classes - frequently returning to dance foundations. Issana most recently appeared under stage lights performing an original contemporary work "Lines and Bounces" with Doré Dance Company. When she is not dancing or teaching, you can find Issana hiking PNW trails, immersing herself in community events, eating diverse foods, advocating for wildlife conservation, or advocating for community and youth voice. Issana holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology – both from the University of Washington.  She believes in providing everyone the chance to find their inner groove and personal forms of expression in fun and positive learning communities, and she looks forward to dancing with you in class!

Instructor - Hip-Hop

Brian has over 10 years of dance experience in New Jersey and New York City. He made choreography for and participated in World of Dance NY for 3 years, Prelude NE (north east) for 2 years.
-did corporate work for Macy's for 1 year: industrial dance videos and in-house performances specifically in NYC.
-experience with organizing casting calls, running auditions, creating choreography, teaching choreography, and performance.
Brian's dance interests/background is in: break dancing, popping, locking, east-coast street style (hip hop), and house.
He finds the most pleasure in introducing non-dancers to movement and helping beginners with their 'pick-up' (the skill of remembering and executing choreography).
Brian's main goal as a teacher is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment where students can be introduced to choreography and help prepare them for whatever dance goals they may have; confidently moving to a more advanced choreography class, preparing for an audition where 'pick up' and performance quality is being assessed, increasing familiarity with choreography and dance in general, and/or just having fun while trying something new."
